On January 23, a 12.5 km short individual race for women will take place at the “Vysočina Arena” in Nové Město na Moravě (Czech Republic), as part of the 6th stage of the 2025/26 Biathlon World Cup.
A total of 93 biathletes will take part in this classic discipline. However, unlike the Olympic event, this year’s individual race will be held in the shorter 12.5 km format.
Overall standings | 2025/26 season calendar
Current overall standings leader, Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonnot, will start with bib number 30. Italian star Dorothea Wierer will race in the “red bib” with number 36 on her jersey. This is Wierer’s farewell season on the World Cup circuit, and she will undoubtedly want to finish it on a high note. Ideally, with a medal at her home Olympics.
The second-ranked athlete in the overall standings, surprise Finnish star Suvi Minkkinen, will start 50th.
It is worth noting that several leading biathletes will miss the classic race, including the Öberg sisters and Norway’s Maren Kirkeeide.
