On September 30, the men’s singles final will take place on the “Ariake Coliseum” court in Tokyo, Japan, as the ATP-500 “Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships-2025” tournament comes to a close.
The title will be contested by world No. 1 Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and the strongest tennis player in the United States, Taylor Fritz. Taylor is ranked in the Top 5. The head-to-head score is 3:1 in favor of the decorated Spaniard. A week ago, Taylor managed to get on the scoreboard by defeating Carlito at the Laver Cup in San Francisco (6:3, 6:2). It was a semi-exhibition tournament, and the Spaniard was clearly not ready for it. Today is a completely different story.

The day before, Alcaraz came from behind to defeat Norway’s Casper Ruud (3:6, 6:3, 6:4). It was no easy match for the world No. 1. Meanwhile, Taylor comfortably defeated compatriot Jenson Brooksby (6:4, 6:3) in the semifinals. The level of opposition should also be taken into account.
