On March 15, the final men’s singles match of the Masters 1000 tournament “BNP Paribas Open-2026” will be held on Stadium 1 court in Indian Wells (USA), where the tournament concludes.
Russia’s Daniil Medvedev will play for the California Masters title against Italy’s Jannik Sinner. Daniil is ranked 11th in the world. Jannik is the world’s No. 2. The head-to-head score (8-7) favors the Italian tennis player.
Their tournament paths have not crossed for almost a year and a half. This is due to last season’s poor results for Daniil. In 2024, however, they played as many as 6 matches, 5 of which were won by the Italian.

After his recent title in Rotterdam, Daniil continued his strong performances in the United States. Reaching the Masters final is testament to the Russian’s excellent form. The day before, Medvedev knocked out top seed Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, and did so quite convincingly. Overall, Danya did not drop a single set on his way to the deciding match.
As for his current opponent in the final, Jannik raced through the draw in his usual fashion. It was only in the fourth round that he encountered some difficulties against Brazilian young talent Joao Fonseca. The day before, he handed Sasha Zverev another defeat (6:2, 6:4).
