The day before, Elina overcame Britain’s Sonay Kartal with great difficulty. The match was extremely tense and entertaining.
Jovic cleared the quarterfinal hurdle against little-known Belgian Sofia Costoulas (6:2, 7:68-6). Despite her young age, Iva is a WTA 500 titleholder. Last September, she won a “500-level” tournament in Guadalajara (Mexico). The American is progressing rapidly and is ready to challenge top opponents, including the decorated Ukrainian.
Will Elina confirm her status as the favorite, and how will this intriguing clash between the experienced Ukrainian and the ambitious American unfold? Watch it live…
