On January 25, a fourth-round match, or the round of 16, in the women’s singles will take place on Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, where the Grand Slam tournament Australian Open 2026 is being held.
Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and Russian Mirra Andreeva will compete for a place in the quarterfinals. Elina is ranked No. 12 in the world. Mirra is in seventh place. Andreeva leads their head-to-head record (1-0).
Their only meeting took place at the WTA 1000 event in Indian Wells last year, when the 18-year-old Russian came out on top (7:5, 6:3). Today, Elina will try to get her revenge and repeat last year’s result here.
