On December 14, at the Ahoy arena in Rotterdam (Netherlands), as the 2025 Women’s Handball World Championship draws to a close, the match for 3rd place will take place.
France and the Netherlands will compete for the bronze medals. Recall that the teams met in the group stage, when the Dutch came out on top (26:23).
The day before, the French lost to Germany (23:29) and relinquished their world champion title. Sébastien Gardillou‘s team put in a frankly poor performance compared with their quarter-final against Denmark. Apparently, Suzanne Wajoka and company used up a lot of energy in their match against the Scandinavians.
The Dutch lost their semi-final match against Norway’s handball players (25:35). Henrik Signell’s team had no answers against the formidable Norwegians.

The consolation final promises to be extremely interesting. The Dutch are playing in front of their home crowd, which gives them extra motivation. The French, of course, do not want to leave the World Cup without a medal.
