On the night of January 1, a group-stage match will take place at “3M Arena at Mariucci” in Minneapolis (USA), where the 2026 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship (U-20) is being held.
In the final round of Group B Canada will face Finland. The leaders of the “quintet” will meet to decide first place in the final standings.
In the previous rounds, both teams have not been entirely convincing. They are apparently preparing to hit their peak in the knockout games.
The “Maple Leafs” juniors only broke the resistance of their Latvian peers in overtime (2:1 OT). The Finns lost to the Czechs by the same score.
Despite their opening “slip-ups,” the Canadians lead the standings with 8 points. “Suomi” have one point fewer (7) and are in second place.
