On February 13, a group-stage match will take place at the “Santa Giulia Arena” ice rink in Milan, where the Olympic ice hockey tournament is underway.
In the second round of Group B, Finland will face Sweden. Another “Battle of the Titans” in world hockey.
In the opening round, Finland suffered a somewhat unexpected defeat to Slovakia (1:4). Eeli Tolvanen scored the only goal for “Suomi”. Antti Pennanen‘s team put in a thoroughly disappointing performance in their opening game.
Sweden started by defeating the host nation, Italy (5:2). Sam Hallam‘s team were a little cautious at the start, then “shifted gears” after the halfway point and secured a convincing result.
The Swedish team is packed with NHL stars and is one of the leading contenders for gold. The same cannot be said of Finland, as their opening game clearly demonstrated.
