On May 24, a group-stage match will take place at the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich (Switzerland), where the 2026 Ice Hockey World Championship is underway.
In the 6th round of Group B, Latvia will face bottom-of-the-table Great Britain.
The day before, Harijs Vitolins‘s team secured a stunning and hugely important victory over the USA (4:2). Sandis Vilmanis scored twice against the reigning world champions. Thanks to this success, the Baltic side remain in the fight for a place in the playoffs.
Great Britain have lost all their previous matches and are, unsurprisingly, at the bottom of the standings. Today is one of the last chances for Peter Russell‘s team to stay in the top division next season.
