On December 30, a group-stage match will take place at the Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, USA, where the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship is currently underway.
In Group A, Switzerland will face Germany.
This is the German team’s last chance to make the playoffs. Tobias Abstreiter’s team lost its previous three games, with little chance of winning. The day before, Simon Seidl and company suffered a heavy defeat to Sweden (1:8).
The Swiss have already played two games against the main Group A favorites. In their opening game, Jan Cadieux’s team narrowly lost to the Americans (1:2), then lost to Sweden in a hard-fought contest (2:4).
