On October 21, a 3rd-round group-stage match in the 2025/26 Champions League season will take place at the “Central ” Stadium in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Local side “Kairat” will host Cypriot team “Pafos”.
Schedule (Group Stage) | Standings
“Kairat” made their debut in Europe’s most prestigious club competition with an away defeat to Portuguese side “Sporting” (1:4). Then, in their first home game, they suffered a heavy loss to Real Madrid (0:5). The class gap between the Kazakh side and “Los Blancos” was simply too great.
The Cypriot club began their campaign in the tournament proper with a goalless draw against Greek champions “Olympiacos”. In the following round, Juan Carlos Carcedo’s side lost to Bayern Munich (1:5). The Cypriots could do nothing against the German stars.
Today we can look forward to a meeting between two roughly evenly matched teams, which adds to the anticipation for the upcoming game. The pressure on the players is quite significant.
We expect competitive, uncompromising football.
