On December 30, at “3M Arena at Mariucci” in Minneapolis (USA), where the 2026 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship (U-20) is underway, a group-stage match will take place.
In Group B, Latvia will face Denmark.
The Danes will play their final group-stage match. Martin Struzinski’s team have lost all three of their previous games, and by wide margins.
As for the Latvians, Artis Abols’ team began their campaign with a surprising result against formidable Canada, losing to the “Maple Leafs” only in overtime (1:2 OT). This was followed by a heavy defeat to the “Suomi” youth team (0:8). The Baltic side looked frankly exhausted against the Finns, above all emotionally.
Today, Rudolfs Berzkalns and company face the key match of the entire tournament.
