On June 6, on Paris’s center court, “Court Philippe-Chatrier”, where the Roland Garros 2026 Grand Slam tournament is underway, the women’s singles final will take place.
Polish qualifier Maya Chwalinska and Russian Mirra Andreeva will compete for the title and 2,000 ranking points. Maya is ranked 114th in the world and is the lowest-ranked player ever to reach a French Open final. Mirra is the world No. 8. The players have never met on the professional tour.

On her way to the final, Maya has dropped just one set, although she has not faced an opponent ranked in the Top 20. In the semifinals, the surprise Polish contender defeated Russia’s 25th seed Diana Shnaider (7:67-4, 6:4).
Mirra has also lost just one set, dropping the opening set to Spain’s Marina Bassols Ribera in the second round (3:6, 6:1, 6:1). Yesterday, Mirra comfortably beat Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk (6:1, 6:3), avenging her defeat in the Madrid “1000” final.
Andreeva plays an aggressive game, hitting deep, powerful shots from the baseline. Maya uses more variety. She likes and knows how to hit topspin and drop shots.
For both players, this is their first Grand Slam final.
