On February 10, the men’s singles short program will take place at the “Milano Ice Skating Arena” in Milan, Italy, the venue for the 2026 Olympic figure skating tournament.
A total of 29 skaters will perform the required program and determine the 24 skaters who advance to the free skate.
The headline act in the men’s singles event is 21-year-old American Ilia Malinin, a two-time world champion. Ilia continues to amaze and rewrite records for total points scored. It’s no wonder he is called the “Quad King.” His “ultra-C” elements set him apart from the other skaters.
Ilia will face competition from reigning world silver medalist, Kazakh skater Mikhail Shaidorov.
The only Russian competing as a neutral athlete (AIN), Petr Gumennik, as well as Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama and France’s Adam Siao Him Fa, will also be in the field.
