On the night of January 24–25, a major boxing event promoted by Eddie Hearn’s “Matchroom Boxing“ will take place at the “Fontainebleau Las Vegas“ arena in Las Vegas, USA.
The main event will be a fight for the IBF world lightweight title (up to 61.2 kg). The reigning champion, 29-year-old American Raymond Muratalla, will face 30-year-old Cuban Andy Cruz.
Despite the minimal age difference, Muratalla has had 23 fights in the pro ring, while Cruz has had only 6. Like the vast majority of Cubans, Andy remained in amateur boxing, where he won gold at the 2020 Olympics and became a world champion three times.
Both boxers have heavy hands and are technically and tactically well-schooled. This is especially true of the Cuban challenger, who is also the favorite heading into the fight.
Pro boxing records: Raymond Muratalla (23-0, 17 KO) – Andy Cruz (6-0, 3 KO)
That same evening, we will also see former WBA world champion at super welterweight (69.9 kg), Uzbek Israil Madrimov, in action. Israil once fought the legendary Terence Crawford.
The Uzbek fighter will face 32-year-old Dominican Republic boxer Luis David Salazar. The Dominican is significantly outclassed by Israil and is considered the underdog for the upcoming fight.
Pro boxing records: Israil Madrimov (10-2-1, 7 KO) – Luis David Salazar (20-1, 7 KO)
