On February 7, a major boxing event by “Echo Arena” in Liverpool (England, United Kingdom) will be hosted by “Queensberry Promotions” – Frank Warren.
The main event of the boxing show will be a fight for the WBA featherweight world title (up to 57.2 kg). The reigning champion, local boxer Nick Ball, will face highly decorated American Brandon Figueroa.
Nick will make the 4th defense of his title. In his previous fight, “The Wrecking Ball” faced Australian Sam Goodman in August last year and won. The judges awarded the victory to the Liverpool boxer by unanimous decision (118-110, 117-111, 115-113).
As for his current opponent, Brandon was once a world champion at featherweight (up to 57.1 kg) and junior featherweight (up to 55.3 kg). Figueroa suffered both of his professional losses to fellow American Stephen Fulton: first by majority decision, then by unanimous decision.
Brandon had his most recent fight at the famous “MGM Grand” arena in Las Vegas, where he defeated fellow American Joet Gonzalez by unanimous decision (twice 116-115 and 115-113).
