The headline act and clear favorite in the men’s race is decorated Norwegian Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. Only some kind of “force majeure” could prevent Klæbo from claiming his 7th Olympic gold and his 2nd at the current Games in Italy. The day before, he won the skiathlon.
Among the women, look out for the top sprinters of the current season: Sweden’s Maja Dahlqvist and Switzerland’s Nadine Fähndrich. Maja won silver at the previous Olympics in Beijing.
