On February 1, at the Stozice Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where the 13th European Futsal or Mini-Football Championship 2026 is underway, Spain and Italy will meet in a quarter-final match.
Perhaps the most intriguing match of this stage of the tournament.
Spain won Group C with a 100% record. Jesus Velasco’s team defeated Slovenia (4:1), Belarus (2:0) and Belgium (10:3).
Italy finished second in Group D, behind Portugal. Salvatore Samperi’s side began their campaign with a defeat to star-studded Portugal (2:6), then beat Poland (4:0) and drew with Hungary (2:2). They finished ahead of the latter on goal difference.
Spain’s futsal team is Europe’s most decorated side. The Spaniards have won 7 of the 13 editions. At the previous Euro 2022, “La Roja” had to settle for bronze and will be looking to make amends at this tournament.
