On the night of February 7 – 8, the fight tournament UFC Fight Night 266. will take place at the “UFC Apex” arena in Las Vegas, USA. For the first time this year, the promotion’s home arena will host the event.
The main event of the evening will be a bout between top bantamweight fighters (up to 61.2 kg). American Mario Bautista, ranked No. 9, will enter the Octagon against Brazilian Vinicius Oliveira. The latter is ranked 11th on the UFC roster.
Mario will look to bounce back from his loss to Russia’s Umar Nurmagomedov. In October last year, he lost by unanimous decision at UFC 321. Before that defeat, Bautista was on an 8-fight winning streak, with notable “victims” including the renowned Jose Aldo and former “Bellator” champion Patchy Mix.
Vinicius made his debut in Dana White’s promotion in March 2024. In just under two years, he has fought four bouts and won them all, persistently knocking on the door of the Top 10 rankings.
Notably, Bautista is a grappler, while Oliveira is a pronounced knockout artist. Usually, it is Brazilian fighters who prefer to settle things on the ground.
A highly intriguing fight…
