Standings | Schedule and results
After two matches played, the current opponents have earned 4 points each and share first place in the standings, with identical goal differences (1-0).
Andrea Maldera’s team began with an unexpected and welcome away win over Hungary (1-0). A few days later, Tsyhankov and company drew with Georgia, also away from home. The Italian coach is experimenting with the national team’s lineup, which is quite predictable. As a reminder, the Ukrainians will play one more match in this cycle, facing Hungary again (October 5).
Northern Ireland began the group stage with a narrow away win over Georgia. Shayne Charles scored in the 90+7 minute, but then they failed to beat Hungary at home (0:0). Michael O’Neill’s team plays well-organized, physical football. The nominal hosts certainly won’t have an easy time today. Breaking down Pierce Charles will be no easy task. At any rate, their previous opponents failed to do so.
Will Maldera’s men manage to break the resistance of the dogged British side? Watch live on the “MEGOGO” media service.
