On the night of June 27–28, a 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage match will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (USA).
In the final round of Group K , the Uzbekistan national team will face the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In their opening match, the Uzbek players lost to Colombia (1:3), then suffered a heavy defeat against Portugal (0:5). Abbosbek Fayzullaev scored their debut—and so far only—World Cup goal.
As a side note, Fabio Cannavaro‘s players had little chance in either match. Perhaps they will have a chance today against a nominally weaker opponent.
The DR Congo national team began its campaign with an unexpected draw against formidable Portugal (1:1). In the next round, Sébastien Desabre‘s team narrowly lost to Colombia (0:1). The African team has made a good impression with its play.
